About the Artist

Born in the East of England, Janet sold her first drawing at the age of 15. Since then she has painted in watercolor whenever family life permitted. She relocated in 2001 to the island of Tenerife, (Canary Islands) known as the island of eternal spring due to its wonderful climate year round. The semi tropical surroundings and light in Tenerife opened Janet’s eyes anew to the colors around her and she decided she could capture this in French dyes on silk.

She has been painting in both watercolor and silk since then and has recently added Alcohol Ink to her growing list of mediums. She hosts painting holidays at her Tenerife home in all three mediums. For those who prefer to study alone you can buy her e-books and follow her instructions at your leisure.

Janet is also happy to undertake commissions in watercolor, alcohol ink and silk painting.

Lock Down has seen Janet return to her love of fabric and sewing and the design of a new mini messenger bag, now offered for sale on the website https://www.janetart.com/product-category/fabric-crafts/messenger-bags/
