A beautiful long silk scarf  28cm x 150cm (11″ x 60″) hand- painted with red poppies on a white background with black edging.

Painted by hand on 8mm silk Habotai with Dupont Silk dyes, this is a genuine original design by Janet and signed by the artist.  Long enough to tie in numerous ways.

The design is first outlined with a waterbased outliner which is set before painting begins.  Each flower is shaded individually before the border is painted. When all is dried overnight the shawl is wrapped in cotton and steamed to bond the dyes to the silk.  It is then rinsed several times, the final one being with hair conditioner to make sure it feels beautiful and soft. It is then ironed dry at which point it is ready to wear.
