Born in the East of England, Janet sold her first drawing at the age of 15. Since then she has painted in watercolor whenever family life permitted. She relocated in 2001 to the island of Tenerife, (Canary Islands) known as the island of eternal spring due to its wonderful climate year round. The semi tropical surroundings and light in Tenerife opened Janet’s eyes anew to the colors around her and she decided she could capture this in French dyes on silk.
She has been painting in both watercolor and silk since then and hosts painting holidays at her Tenerife home in both mediums. For those who prefer to study alone you can buy her e-books and follow her instructions at your leisure.
A new addition to her skills came about a few years ago when she was introduced to Gallery Glass which simulates leaded glass and she now produces a range of glass clings which can be used on windows and tiles and re-positioned as required. Larger leaded panels can also be produced to order and Janet is also happy to undertake commissions in both watercolor and on silk.
