A beautiful long narrow silk scarf  20cm x 135cm (8″ x 53″) hand- painted with stylised  poppies in shades of yellow, orange and pink.

Painted by hand on 8mm silk Habotai with Dupont Silk dyes, this is a genuine original design by Janet and is long enough to tie in numerous ways.

The design is totally freehand allowing the colours to run and then stopping the flow with heat from a hairdryer. It was worked in many layers until I was happy with the whole design. When all is dried overnight the scarf is wrapped in cotton and steamed to bond the dyes to the silk.  It is then rinsed several times, the final one being with hair conditioner to make sure it feels beautiful and soft. It is then ironed dry at which point it is ready to wear.
