A pure silk shawl 35cm x 150 featuring large hand painted Hibiscus in shades of orange and red with tropical leaves on a sky blue background.

Painted by hand on 8mm silk habotai with Dupont Silk dyes, this is a genuine original design by Janet and signed by the artist.  Long enough to wear draped over the shoulders or to tie in numerous ways.

The design is first outlined with a waterbased outliner which is set before painting begins.  Each flower is shaded individually before the background is painted in a watercolour style. When all is dried overnight the shawl is wrapped in cotton and steamed to bond the dyes to the silk.  It is then rinsed several times, the final one being with hair conditioner to make sure it feels beautiful and soft. It is then ironed dry at which point it is ready to wear.

Will be despatched wrapped in presentation box, ready for giving or keeping to yourself.

Handwash using soap or gentle detergent. Iron whilst damp.
