This is an original Painting on Silk of an imaginary landscape with hills and a tree in blossom. It is signed by the artist. The silk is mounted onto canvas, ready to hang and protected with several coats of matt varnish to protect it from UV rays.
The painting is worked on stretched silk using a tecnique called line building which is worked from the background forwards. Each layer of dye is dried before a further layer is applied which moves the original layer building the lines in the landscape. It is a very unpredicatable technique but one which I really enjoy. Once the work is finished, the silk is steamed to set the colours before it is mounted and varnished.
Product size 20cm x 20cm x 2cm
Back of canvas is finished with white felt to protect the wall it is hung on and comes with a hanging cord ready to hang.
